Illinois Department of Commerce & Community Affairs
After starting with the agency as the Marketing Representative in the Metro-East, rose to become the Assistant Director of the agency, a cabinet-level position. Also served in and interim basis while Assistant Director as the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Business Development. Notable projects included:
National Association of State Development Agencies
NASDA at the time was an influential Beltway association that brought together the leaders of the U.S. state government economic development agencies. Highlights included serving as the 1st Vice Chairman for the organization and working with fellow members to serve as an advisory panel to the U.S. Department of Commerce on issues such as the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Communications Network Development Partnership
Served as a principal in the firm conducting a number of projects for Pembroke Township in Kankakee, Illinois, including:
- Securing the funding for and writing a comprehensive economic development strategic plan;
- Securing the funding for and writing a industry development plan that ultimately focused on directing the community to be an organic food resource for restaurants and companies in the food processing industry;
- Securing the funding for and managing the construction of the POWER Center small business incubator;
- Securing the funding for and conducting a telecommunications assessment study designed to attract broadband infrastructure investment.
Six Corners Business Association
- Served as president of the chamber of commerce like association and as a City of Chicago Special Service Area Commissioner.
- Helped implement a strategy that utilized the development and promotion of the cultural arts to revitalize the area which led to winning multiple Illinois Main Street awards that was also recognized nationally.
Worked to help revitalize the institutions efforts to connect small- and medium – sized businesses with existing workforce development programs.
