Levi Moore is an Illinois public policy subject-matter and not-for-profit management expert. He has provided assistance to public and private sector and NGO clients since 2000 as the President and founder of the PROXY 2.0 consulting firm.
He currently works primarily with the Hektoen Institute of Medical Research where his responsibilities include public affairs, strategic alliance development and coordinating the activities and growth of the Foxglove Alliance (FGA) a burgeoning coalition of 15 Chicago area health care institutions. His notable efforts and accomplishments at Hektoen include:
- Forging new and solidifying existing relationships for Hektoen with public and not-for-profit organizations and revamping Hektoen’s education programming.
- Leading the FGA’s More Minorities in Medical Research (M3R) Campaign and launching the Community Pulse television show.
- Leading the outreach and communications efforts for Hektoen’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing Initiative and also serving as a member of the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) Communications Outreach team and helping to design the CDPH COVID-19 dashboard as a member of the West Side United CDPH Rapid Response Team.
- Co-founding and coordinating passage of the actual law advancement of the Illinois Prescription Drug Repository Coalition.
- Expanding the working relationship with established Hektoen partners such as the Illinois Association of Free & Charitable Clinics including serving on that organization’s Board of Directs and co-chairing the Advocacy & Policy Committee and serving as Co-Chair of the West Side United Anchor Committee and as a member on their impact investment and small business grant work groups.
- Serving on the Chicago Area Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Network (CAPriCORN) Patient Community Advisory Committee (PCAC) and previously as a member of the national Patient Centers Outcomes Research Institute’s PCORnet Working Group.
Moore also serves as a regular consultant for the Gerson Lehrman Group as a resource for that firm’s clients seeking insights on issues related to State of Illinois government operations, legislative activity, fiscal outlook and political dynamics.
In terms of current civic activity, Moore is the immediate Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV) where he spearheaded a reinvention of the organization as it enters a period of industry transition. He is also a member of the Chicago Area Public Affairs Group.
Just prior to joining Hektoen he was the Executive Director of the National Veterans Art Museum (NVAM) where his community outreach activities for NVAM included serving as the President of the Six Corners Business Association and as a City of Chicago Special Service Area Commissioner.
Earlier in his career, Moore was the primary City of Chicago and federal lobbyist for the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce and was the 2nd in command of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Community Affairs as a cabinet member under then Governor Jim Edgar. While serving in the Edgar administration, he was also the Vice Chairman of the National Association of State Development Agencies. The East St. Louis, IL native is a graduate of Northwestern University with a B.S. in Journalism and graduate level work in political science.
